Open Source Web Design – Your Source For Open Source Web Templates!

I don’t know about you, but when I hit the internet looking for a free web design template, I get so frustrated I could pull my hair out. There are just so many sites to look at, and half the time it seems like they all have the same designs.

But that was before my friend told me about Open Source Web Design.

Open Source Web Design has over 2,000 FREE downloadable web design templates to choose from; all created and submitted by fellow template designers.

What you should know about Open Source Web Design and its web design templates before you get started:

You can download any of the free designs on Open Source Web Design (OSWD) and use them on your website free of charge.

The designs distributed at OSWD each carry their own seperate [sic] open source license which is chosen by the designer when it is submitted to the site. Upon downloading a design, you agree to use the design under its respected license.

If you use a design from OSWD, it is recommended, but not required, that you link back to

Using the OSWD design itself and the content it contains (except for the designs, of course) is not allowed without written consent from OSWD.

Founded in September 2000 by Francis J. Skettino, the overall goal of Open Source Web Design is to provide the internet community with web design templates of high quality, all aimed to help you get your web project online in a way that is easy, efficient, and pleasing to the eye.

For a little over 9 years, Open Source Web Design has provided those with personal blogs, content management systems and full-blown internet businesses, free user-friendly web design templates.

Open Source Web Design shows no signs of slowing down.
