There’s nothing worse than sitting down in front of your computer in the morning with your hot cup of coffee and finding out one of the sites you manage went down and you have no idea why.

For less than one dollar per site per year, Are My Sites Up? will check your sites more than 25 times a day, and notify you of errors in whatever way you choose. You get unlimited SMS and email notifications, as well as the HTML status error code so you know why the site went down.

The premium plan gives you so much more. Premium plans offer faster site checks, RSS feeds, keyword search, an iPhone application, Twitter integration, and premium-level customer support.

How does it work?

Are My Sites Up? tries to load your site. When that happens they get an HTTP Status Code back. If that number is anywhere in the 200’s or 300’s, your site is cool. Otherwise, there is some kind of error resulting in your site being down for visitors, and that triggers their system for handling down sites (you get the email, the icon goes red, etc.)

What if Are My Sites Up? goes down?

While obviously that isn’t ideal, it’s not as bad as you might think. The front-end and the back-end of the site are totally separate. If you aren’t able to load the site, don’t worry! Your sites are still being checked in the background and you will still be notified.

Not once has the backend of Are My Sites Up? gone down, by the way.
