You pay an insurance premium each year. After you die the insurance company will send a check to your kids on their birthdays for as long as they live.

Here’s a typical rate for a non smoking 70 year old man: $580.00 annually

What will the kids get? Each kid in a two child family will get about $100.00 each year (and a birthday card).

That doesn’t sound like a deal to me.
